The SFA Alumni Spirit Awards

As part of the Super Centennial Event, The SFA Alumni Association will honor six distinguished alumni with our first-ever Alumni Spirit Awards. The awards will be given at the Alumni Awards Dinner, on the evening of Friday, June 5th.

The Alumni Spirit Awards were created to honor alumni who have distinguished themselves as individuals in service, faith, achievement, core values of St. Francis of Assisi School.

award categories

One Alumni Spirit Award will be given in each of six categories. Each category reflects a key part of the Saint Francis of Assisi School mission.

Shepherd of the Flock
Award

Honors alumni who actively support parish life or local communities, mentoring, guiding, and nurturing others in faith, character, and purpose.

Given in recognition of an alumnus who best offers time, attention, and care to help individuals and communities flourish close to home.

beacon of Generosity
Award

Recognizes alumni who have achieved professional, civic, or artistic success while remaining grounded in Gospel and Franciscan values,

Given in recognition of an alumnus who exhibits excellence expressed through integrity, ethical leadership, mentorship, and service.

Servant
of all
Award

Honors alumni who take the values of faith into marginalized, forgotten, or wounded communities, serving the poor, refugees, elderly, sick, hopeless, or those lost in despair.

Given in recognition of an alumnus who has helped repair societal wounds and foster healing, hope, and inclusion. In short, one who lives the Gospel in spaces where love and justice are most needed.

Award

Honors alumni who protect the environment, foster thriving communities, or create systemic impact, blending personal achievement with service.

Given in recognition of an alumnus who has helped repair social or environmental injustices, cultivate community, and honor God’s creation.

Lightbearer in Faith
Award

Honors alumni whose faith is deeply lived both in active Church participation and in ways that reveal God’s truth in places others often overlook, seeing the divine in ordinary moments, marginalized communities, or situations others might miss. This includes ministry, mentorship, evangelization, creative expression, or other contributions that inspire hope and nurture the spiritual life of others.

Values
of SFA
Award

Honors alumni who have drawn on the values instilled during the years as a student at SFA to succeed personally, to overcome challenges, to quietly represent the distinctive humility our school cultivates.

Given in recognition of an alumnus who has demonstrated personal achievement through perseverance, grit in challenging times or environments.

Nominate Any Alum — including Yourself!

We need your help identifying alumni to honor with an award this year! All living alumni, regardless of the year they graduated, are eligible.

Simply fill out this form with your nominee’s name, year, and reasons for nomination, and don’t spare the details!

Awardees will be notified at least four weeks ahead of the event. They must be present at the awards dinner to receive their award.

Also, if you give us permission, we’ll publish your edited letter online in our alumni directory, which will appear on the Alumni Association website, regardless of who wins the specific awards.
